The Al Jahra Car Park Building (JCP), located approximately 30 km away from Kuwait City, supports the main Al Jahra Court Complex and has a total built up area of 104,869 sqm

The KD79.65-million ($273.71 million) Al Jahra Court Complex was formally inaugurated on 1 June 2016 by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al- Sabah of Kuwait. The architectural style of the building aims to reflect the strength and transparency of the justice system in Kuwait, while capturing universal themes of jurisprudence.

For the car park building, Conergy together with local partner IQ Tech – Clenergy erected a 122.2 kWp solar PV system on the roof and facade of the building to provide clean solar energy for the Kuwait Ministry of Justice.

The 470 Conergy CPP crystalline modules used in the system, where 330 modules were installed on the roof and 140 modules on the building‘s facade, will gemerate 185 MWh of clean electricity per year while saving over 156 tons of harmful CO2 emissons.

The car-park building comprises three basement levels, a ground floor and 19 upper levels offering parking for a total of 2,926 cars. While parking on the lower levels will be conventional, an automated car-park facility will be available on 14 levels above the fifth floor. “Based on a modular concept, the automated system can be adapted to meet the specific requirements of any given location,” explained a spokesperson from JCP. “Through a combination of vertical car elevators covering the entire system and shuttles that work on each individual parking level, the automated system boasts a virtually limitless array of possible configurations.”
