Our Country Head for India, Pratyush Thakur, will speak at The Asset’s 20th Asia Bond Markets Summit – India Edition, on their panel – The future of India’s infrastructure – on 27 March 2025, in Mumbai, India.
Themed ‘Rising to the challenge,’ this year’s summit will focus on navigating the next stage in India’s growth story. The summit will explore the opportunities and challenges presented by the nation’s economic landscape, including India’s energy transition journey and the crucial role of the country’s capital markets, particularly the bond market, in financing growth, infrastructure development, and clean energy projects.
Mr. Thakur’s panel, taking place from 4:10 to 4:50 PM IST, will explore how to revitalize private sector participation in various sectors, including urban development, digital infrastructure, transportation, and renewable energy projects, to address the funding gap arising from the government’s fiscal constraints. Discussions will cover the opportunities and challenges presented by GIFT City and foreign investments, identify priority sectors for investment, analyze the factors hindering private sector participation and how they are being addressed, and examine how local currency bonds can play a larger role in financing India’s infrastructure development.
