Thai Solar Energy Company Limited selected Conergy to supply the components and provide the EPC services for its combined 21MW solar parks in Thailand. Conergy was tasked to oversee the development of the parks on two sites, with one site in Suphanburi and another in Kanchanaburi.
The solar parks, covering nearly 500,000 sqm, are providing enough energy for 14,000 households. Together, the parks will reduce CO2 emissions by 15,700 metric tons per year.

Executives at Conergy and Thai Solar Energy Co. Ltd. agree that favorable government policy coupled with powerful levels of sunlight, has positioned Thailand as a solar leader.

“The Thai government wants to meet one quarter of the country’s energy requirements using renewable energy sources by 2022. This is providing a baseline of support to the development of a solar energy market in Thailand,” stated Alexander Lenz, CEO of Conergy. “The country currently still imports around half of the national energy needs at high costs. Each new solar installation contributes to the gradual reduction of both dependence on energy imports and their costs for the government.”

“Companies such as TSE are role models not only for Thailand, but for investors around the world. They are putting their money to work in building the best solar farm possible, with the best materials. Their strategy is for the long-term benefit of all the stakeholders: the company’s employees and shareholders, the environment and Thai people,” added Lenz.

“Since its inception, TSE has been dedicated to sustainability and the protection of the environment. Furthermore, we are determined to use the best technology and expertise available on the market in building our solar plants,” said Cathleen Maleenont, COO of Thai Solar Energy. “Conergy aligns perfectly with our aspiration as it has many years of success to show for itself in Thailand, with the construction of highly efficient installations according to European standards. That’s why we are very excited to have Conergy as a partner in this flagship project.”
