6 February 2023, Singapore – Blueleaf Energy, a leading Pan Asian renewable energy platform, has appointed renewable energy veterans Anand Prakash as the Chief Investment Officer (“CIO”), and Amiram Roth-Deblon as the Chief Operating Officer (“COO”). These leadership appointments coincide with Blueleaf Energy’s significant growth plans for renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure investments in the Asia Pacific region.

Anand Prakash brings over 25 years of leadership experience in investing in renewable energy, the power industry and the broader climate investing space. Most recently, Anand served as the Managing Director of Asian Century Advisors (“ACA”) where he provided Senior Advisory services to marquee private equity investors building or scaling platforms to deploy capital in renewable energy, waste and water among other high climate impact companies across Asia. Prior to ACA, Anand served as the Managing Director of Asia Climate Partners, a private equity fund launched by Asian Development Bank and ORIX Corporation based in Hong Kong and of FE Clean Energy Group, one of the pioneering private equity investors in the clean energy space in Asia. In his new role as the CIO of Blueleaf Energy based in Singapore, Anand will lead and advance the company’s investment strategy, planning, analysis and execution to further accelerate the growth and asset build out of the company.

Amiram Roth-Deblon has developed and built successful renewable energy businesses across Asia Pacific, Europe and Africa in the last two decades, with more than 4 Gigawatts of solar, wind and battery projects developed and delivered. Prior to joining Blueleaf Energy, he was a Director at the international project developer and EPC JUWI. Amiram established JUWI’s presence in Asia Pacific from 2011 to 2016 and most recently built a market leading business delivering hybrid power solutions globally to energy intensive industries such as mining. Amiram joins Blueleaf Energy as the COO and will lead the company’s operations from project development to construction and asset management.

Commenting on the key leadership hires, Blueleaf Energy’s CEO, Ram Natarajan said, “Renewable energy and associated energy transition infrastructure investments are expected to witness a major long-term growth cycle as regional governments, large energy consumers from all sectors are committing to much needed ambitious net zero and decarbonization targets. Blueleaf aims to be a key partner for our customer’s energy transition needs through its innovative RE projects and solutions. I am excited to welcome Anand and Amiram to the Blueleaf team in realizing the plan to build and own multi-GW renewable energy portfolio in Asia Pacific”

Anand commented, “Renewable energy companies are at an inflection point.  Successful players need to reach scale at a time when interest rates are rising and the global supply chain disruptions have increased project costs.  Blueleaf is well placed to thrive in this environment through its ability to deliver the most competitive project solutions to their clients. I look forward to developing such solutions for both utilities and corporate clients and help them fulfill their net zero commitments.”

Amiram continued, “I am excited to enable clients to mitigate risks and reduce costs with innovative and dependable renewable energy solutions while substantially reducing their carbon footprint and environmental impact. My project development and construction experience for utility-scale projects and industrial and mining clients provides a blueprint on how to support key clients on their energy transition and sustainability journey. In addition, hybridization of solar, wind and batteries provides low-cost and dispatchable power and redundancy, and thus guarantees a secure and resilient energy supply. I am looking forward to joining Blueleaf’s leadership team and further expand the platform’s contribution to our shareholders as well as sustaining long-term value creation for the organization.”
