Conergy has built for islaSol, the joint venture between the Philippine Investment Alliance for Infrastructure (PINAI), a fund managed by Macquarie Infrastructure Management (Asia) Pty Limited that is dedicated to providing equity investments in Philippine infrastructure and Bronzeoak Philippines, a leader in the development and implementation of renewable energy projects, a solar park in La Carlota, Negros Occidental.
Conergy acted as the turnkey contractor for this project and was responsible for the overall planning, engineering, design, project delivery as well as the component supply for the power plant.
The La Carlota plant has an installed capacity of 32 megawatts and will generate over 47,000 megawatt hours per year, enough electricity to power close to 20,000 local homes. The facility will save about 28,900 tons of carbon (CO2) emissions and will lie on a 448,814 square meter land.
Bronzeoak Philippines President Jose Maria P. Zabaleta Jr. shares, “islaSol is moving ahead with its expansion and is excited to be doing so with Conergy, with whom it has worked well in the past. With the right partners, the projects can be delivered on time to meet the country’s growing energy needs.”
Conergy CEO, Alexander Lenz adds, “We are very encouraged by the increasing recognition of the relevance of solar power in the Philippines as more developers and project sponsors ramp up their investments in utility-scale solar to meet the growing power demand in the country. These additional projects with Bronzeoak, which triples their solar energy capacity, not only underscore solar’s growing acceptance and strong momentum in the country but also demonstrate the improving economics of solar in the Philippines.”
